The first CHS paper pattern is here! This Valentine project is available through our distributor, Dinky Dyes. Let your favorite shop know you'd like them to order a copy in for you!
PATTERN DETAILS:
The pattern comes with 2 designs: Be Mine, and Valentine. Both models were stitched on 32ct. Raw Natural Belfast linen using 2 ply thread. The stitch count for Be Mine is 65w x 40h, and the finished design measures approximately 4"w x 2 1/2"h when stitched on that fabric. The stitch count for Valentine is 79w x 42h, and the finished design measures approximately 4 7/8"w x 2 5/8"h when stitched on that fabric. Both patterns call for whole stitches only (whole stitches = beginner friendly and Aida friendly!) They are stitched in shades of red, white, and green. They use floss from DMC, Weeks Dye Works, and Classic Colorworks, but DMC equivalents are provided for the specialty flosses. The pattern includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you!
WHERE TO BUY This pattern is available in paper format only. Shops can order a copy for you through Dinky Dyes.
RECREATE THE LOOK:
Finish Fabric: The red plaid is Chelsea's Checks from Henry Glass Fabric, SKU #9700-8.
Cording: I used 8 strands of DMC B5200 to make the cording with a Kreinik cording drill.
Bow: I used a 1.5" wire-edged white canvas ribbon from 5th Street Studio on Etsy. I made the rosettes on the bows by twisting some strips of red and white polka dot fabric from my stash. The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page.
Happy Stitching!
