I've been wanting to do a few seasonal smalls that I could add to my spring bunny collection, and this year was the year! There are three in this set, and Bunny Food is the first. (Bunnies Love Carrots and Hop this Way are the other two.)
This .PDF pattern features carrots, hearts, and a branch with leaves. Soft shades of peach, green, and brown make up the palette. The text says, "Bunny Food 25 Cents."
PATTERN DETAILS:
The model was stitched on 32 ct. Antique White Lugana (Zweigart).
The stitch count is 59w x 58h, and the finished design measures approximately 3 5/8"w x 3 5/8"h when stitched on that fabric.
The pattern calls for whole stitches only. (Whole stitches = beginner friendly and Aida friendly!)
The model was stitched with DMC floss only.
The pattern includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you.
This design is available in the Cherry Hill Stitchery Etsy Shop. (Be sure to bookmark the page! It is www.etsy.com/shop/cherryhillstitchery) It is also available at Fat Quarter Shop.
RECREATE THE LOOK:
Finish Fabric: The green check is French Chateau Gingham in Grass by Renee Nanneman for Andover Fabric. The SKU is A-9092-G1.
Cording: The cording I used as trim is 5mm jute rope off of a bulk spool. The particular spool I purchased is no longer available, but most craft stores have something similar. The 5mm size is my favorite.
Bow: The burlap bow is made from a 2" wire-edged natural burlap ribbon (Hobby Lobby), SKU 809780. The ivory bow is made from a 3/8" grosgrain ribbon (Hobby Lobby), SKU 166793. The SKU is showing unavailable on the website at the time of this writing, but I'm listing it in case it's back in stock later.
Button: The button in the centerpiece is a size 36 covered button from Dritz. (Size 36= 7/8"). I covered the button with leftover peach polka dot fabric from last year's bunny pattern models (seen here and here). The fabric is from the Spiced Garden line by Mary Jane Carey of Holly Hill Quilt Designs (Henry Glass Fabrics). The SKU is 2395-35. The fabric line is a little bit older (read: out of print) so you may not be able to find any left in stores.
The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc.--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page of this website. One more time, here it is:
....and here is how I displayed my set all together:
Happy Stitching!
