BUNNY TRAIL - PAPER PATTERN

Spring is coming soon, and so are some spring-themed patterns! Bunny trail is one of two paper pattern releases in Feb. 2022. It will be available for shops to purchase beginning February 1.

PATTERN DETAILS:

The model was stitched on 32ct. Vintage Smokey White Belfast linen (Zweigart) using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 69w x 109h. The finished design measures approximately 4 1/4"w x 6 3/4"h when stitched on that fabric. The pattern calls for whole stitches only (whole stitches = beginner friendly and Aida friendly!) It is stitched in shades of brown, peach, orange, green, and white. The model was stitched use floss from DMC, Weeks Dye Works, and Classic Colorworks, but DMC equivalents are provided for the specialty flosses. The pattern includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you!

WHERE TO BUY: This pattern is available in paper format only. Shops can order a copy for you through Dinky Dyes. If you have additional questions as we are adding both paper and .PDF patterns to the CHS lineup, be sure to check out our Q. & A., here.

RECREATE THE LOOK:

Finish Fabric: The peach polka dot fabric is from the Spiced Garden line by Mary Jane Carey of Holly Hill Quilt Designs (Henry Glass Fabrics). The SKU is 2395-35. The line is a little bit older, so you may need to Google the name of the fabric line along with the SKU to find a shop that still has some in stock.

Cording: I used some 3mm jute rope for the cording. It came out of a zip-lock bag in my stash, so there is no SKU to share. However, most craft stores stock similar products, and it is usually found near the Floral/Wedding or Ribbon aisles.

Bow: I used a 1.5" Side Stitch Ivory ribbon from Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby) for the bottom bow. The SKU is 1510601. I dove-tailed the ends, and then sealed them with Fray-Check. I stacked the ivory bow with a peach colored 3/8" grosgrain ribbon, also from Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby). The color name is Bright Persimmon, and the SKU is 933804. I couldn't find that item on their website at the time of this post, but this is what the roll looks like:

I trimmed the ends of the peach ribbon horizontally so they wouldn't obstruct the stitching, and also sealed them with Fray-Check. Button: The button on the bow is a 3/4" beige coconut shell button that came out of a bulk brown button pack from the craft section at Walmart. That particular button pack is no longer available, but coconut buttons are pretty common! Most craft or sewing stores sell some variation of them. The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page. One more time, here it is:

Happy Stitching!
