HOT COCOA IS CALLING - .PDF

Snow is Falling, Hot Cocoa is calling! OK maybe not right now, but hot cocoa season will be here before we know it ;).

This design started off as a pattern in the 2021 BeStitchMe Winter Solstice Box, and is available now for everyone else!

It comes as a .PDF and features a snowman, hearts, peppermint sticks, and a steaming mug of hot cocoa. The text reads, "Snow is falling, Hot Cocoa is calling."

The design is stitched with shades of green, red, white, brown, black, and orange.

PATTERN DETAILS:

The model is stitched on 16ct Hot Cocoa Aida (BeStitchMe). The stitch count is 91w x 83h, and the finished design measures approx. 5 1/2”w x 4 7/8”h on that fabric. The pattern calls for whole stitches only. The model was stitched with threads from DMC and Weeks Dye Works. DMC equivalents are provided for the specialty threads. The pattern includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you.

RECREATE THE LOOK:

Finish Fabric: The red and tan homespun fabric is from Hobby Lobby. The SKU is 487421. The hunter green homespun is also from Hobby Lobby, and its SKU is 601302.

Cording: I used 6 lengths of 6 ply DMC floss in shade Ecru. I spun the cording with my Kreinik Cording Drill.

Bow: I used a beige 1.5 inch wire-edge royal burlap ribbon from www.shop5thstreet.com. The item number is RG127801. The wine colored bow is made with a 3/8" grosgrain ribbon from Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby), and the SKU is 1924679 The cream and brown berry sprigs were found at Hobby Lobby. Their SKU is 1564830. The snowflake in the center came from my stash, but originally it was a miniature ornament from Walmart.

The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page.

One more time, here it is. Hope you enjoy!
