PUMPKIN SPICE - .PDF

White pumpkin cross-stitch that reads, "Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice"

I *love* light pumpkins and their soft shades of whites and creams, so this cross-stitch pattern was designed to play up the white pumpkin trend. However, it only uses 2 shades of thread for the pumpkins, so it would be easy to swap out the whites with a dark and light pumpkin orange for those of you who prefer a more traditional fall color scheme. As stitched, the pattern uses shades of white, peach, green and brown. It is embellished with pumpkins, acorns, branches with leaves, as well as a touch of gingham check. The full text of the design reads, "Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice."

PATTERN DETAILS: This design suggests threads from Weeks Dye Works and DMC. It contains only whole stitches. The model is stitched over 2 on 28 count Natural Linen using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 108w x 94h and measures approximately 6 1/4"w x 5 1/2"h. FABRIC TIP: The light pumpkins will not show well on a light colored fabric or a fabric with a lot of light colored mottling. When you are choosing fabric for this project, make sure you pick something that is dark enough to make the white and peach threads stand out. THREAD TIP: The suggested peach thread from Weeks Dye Works has some very light colored variegation that almost reaches the same shade as the white pumpkins. When you stitch the first row or two against the white thread, you may not see the peach stand out very well. Hang in there and keep stitching! As you add rows and the thread moves through the variegation, the peach will stand out much better.

Hope you enjoy!
