WATERMELON SUMMER --.PDF

Stitch into picnic season with a set of watermelon-themed .PDF patterns! The first design to be released in this group is called Watermelon Summer.

Watermelon Summer cross-stitch pattern by Cherry Hill Stitchery.

This cross-stitch pattern features a whimsical melon vine with blossoms and watermelon slices beneath text that reads, "Watermelon Summer." Shades of red and green pair with black and white for a sweet, crisp look. A bonus pattern called "Yum" is included in the file.

Yum Cross Stitch Pattern by Cherry Hill Stitchery finished as a flat.

The models for both patterns were stitched on the same fabric, and both patterns use the same floss colors. One skein of each shade is enough to stitch them both!

PATTERN DETAILS:

  • The models were stitched on 28ct Mushroom Lugana (Zweigart).

  • The stitch count for Watermelon Summer is 102w x 55h, and the finished design measures approximately 6 3/8"w x 3 1/4"h when stitched on that fabric. (14ct/equivalent)

  • The stitch count for Yum is 49w x 48h, and the finished design measures approximately 3"w x 2 3/4"h when stitched on that fabric. (14ct/equivalent)

  • The patterns call for whole stitches only. (Whole stitches = beginner friendly and Aida friendly!)

  • The models were stitched with floss from both DMC and Classic Colorworks. DMC equivalents are provided for the Classic Colorworks threads.

  • Both patterns include a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you.

RECREATE THE LOOK:

  • Finish Fabric: The black and white check is Chelsea's Checks by Chelsea Carter of Stitching with the Housewives for Henry Glass Fabrics. The SKU is 9700-9.

  • Cording: The cording was spun with a Kreinik cording drill using 7 lengths of DMC B5200.

  • Bow: The black bow is made from a 1.5" royal cross burlap wire-edged ribbon (5thStreetStudio), SKU RG121102. The white bow is made from a 3/8" grosgrain ribbon from Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby), SKU 166751.

  • Button: The button in the centerpiece is a size 36 covered button from Dritz. (Size 36= 7/8"). I covered the button with Coral Stems fabric from the Flower Garden line by Echo Park for Riley Blake. The SKU is C11902.

The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc.-- stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page of this website.
