WHERE TO BUY RECREATE THE LOOK: Finish Fabric: From the Sugar Sack line by Whistler Studios, by Windham Fabric. The SKU is 50432-6. Cording: I used 5mm jute twine instead of cording on this piece. Most craft/fabric stores carry something similar. I've seen it in the wedding section, in the floral section, and in the ribbon section of my local stores. Bow: For the button, I used a 7/8" wooden button from my stash. The cream and brown berry sprigs were just clipped from a few picks with wire cutters and glued on under the bow, then bent to shape. I found the picks at Hobby Lobby. Their SKU is 1564830. The brown ribbon is a 1.5" chocolate colored burlap ribbon that came from my stash. The orange grosgrain ribbon is 3/8" wide and came originally from Hobby Lobby. The SKU is 171439. The orange and white gingham ribbon is also 3/8" wide, and it is also a Hobby Lobby find. The SKU is 977959. The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page. One more time, here it is all together: Happy Stitching!

  • ANNOUNCEMENT: BERRIES AND CREAM CORRECTION

On the information page for Berries and Cream, it states that the model was stitched with 2 ply thread. This is not accurate. The model was stitched with one ply Sulky 12wt. thread. If you are using the suggested Sulky floss from the Moo the Merrier floss pack, you'll want to stitch with one thread instead of 2. If you are stitching with the suggested DMC alternatives, use the ply you normally would for your chosen fabric count. I apologize for the error! The original post for this design can be found here.

  • 1776 - .PDF

Cording: I spun the cording with my Kreinik custom corder. To get the thickness, I used 6 lengths of the full 6-ply DMC floss. I used DMC 815 to coordinate with the flowers in the design. Bow: The red ribbon is a 1.5" wire-edged canvas ribbon that I found at 5th Street Studio on Etsy. I dove-tailed the ends and sealed them with Fray-Check. I clipped the tails horizontally so they would't obstruct my stitching, and also sealed them with Fray-Check. Button: I pulled a wooden button from my stash for this one. I cannot find a link online for you, but the pack was hiding on a bottom shelf in a craft aisle, not a sewing aisle. Happy Stitching!
