CANDY CANE COTTAGE - .PDF CROSS-STITCH PATTERN

Holiday sweetness is on the menu with Candy Cane Cottage!

Easy Christmas cross-stitch pattern called Candy Cane Cottage that is available as a .PDF Instant download from Cherry Hill Stitchery. The cross stitch pattern features a gingerbread cottage, flowers, cupcakes, peppermint, candy canes, and snow in a holiday palette of red, green, and white, with pink for peppermint and brown for gingerbread.

This .PDF cross-stitch pattern serves up Christmas sweets that include candy canes, cupcakes, peppermint twists, and a gingerbread house. The scene is stitched in DMC shades of red and green, with peppermint pink and white as well as gingerbread brown completing the palette. For those of you who are vignette stitchers, this design coordinates well with Frosted Peppermint Sweet Shoppe.

PATTERN DETAILS: The model was stitched on 32ct Raw Natural Belfast Linen (Zweigart) using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 91h x 73w and the finished design measures approximately 5 3/4” h x 4 3/” w when stitched on that fabric. The pattern calls for whole stitches only and is stitched entirely with DMC floss. It includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you.

RECREATE THE LOOK: Finish Fabric: The red and white checked fabric is Chelsea's Checks by Chelsea Carter of Stitching with the Housewives for Henry Glass Fabrics. The SKU is 9700-8. The green snowflake fabric is from the Magic of Christmas line by Lori Whitlock for Riley Blake Designs. The SKU is C13644. Cording: I used white cording from Merchant 41. The SKU is 829341. Bow: The white ribbon is from 5th Street Studio on Etsy. It is a 1.5" wire-edge royal burlap ribbon and the SKU is RG127827. The green ribbon is a 3/8" double-sided satin ribbon from Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby) in Emerald SKU 170910.  I sealed the ends with fray-check. (Affiliate Amazon link.) Button: I used a plain 7/8" red button. It came out of a lot of hand-dyed buttons I bought ages ago, so there is no SKU. The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc.--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing. I use backing board, Aleens Tacky Glue, and Warm and White Craft Batting. I make cuts with a rotary cutter on a rotary cutting mat. You can see them along with links on the Tools/Organization page.
