The diagonal orientation of the flower is this block's superpower, and is why the word "twist" is included in the pattern's name. As you are laying out your sewn blocks, you can give a few of them a 90 degree twist to completely transform the look of your quilt! Let me show you what I mean. :) I sewed my blocks together alternating which direction the flower pointed each time, creating this visual effect:

THE SPECIFICS: The pattern uses traditional piecing methods to produce a 12.5-inch quilt block. It comes in color, includes an optional cutting guide, and is fully illustrated to walk you step-by-step through construction of this mint-themed Christmas block. Please note the pattern is for the BLOCK, not the quilt. MY HOT TAKE: This 12-inch size is my favorite because one square foot is big enough to cover a lot of quilty real-estate, but small enough to be manageable and scrappy. It also makes quilt math really easy when you are wanting to make the quilt bigger or smaller. (It's12.5 inches by itself but sewing it together with other blocks will reduce the displayed size to an even12 inches.)
