As stitched, this design uses shades of red, pink, white, blue, yellow, green and white. PATTERN DETAILS: This design suggests threads from DMC and uses whole stitches only. Are you ready for some more patriotic stitching? Liberty is the latest addition to the Cherry Hill Stitchery pattern line, and it would be perfect for all the patriotic holidays or as part of a year-round Americana display. The full text of the design reads "Liberty." It features a bald eagle surrounded by greenery and flowers. The eagle is standing on the word "Liberty" and is wearing a floral neck piece. It is sized perfectly for display in a tiered tray, an ornament tree, or to display in a dough bowl along with other pillows. As stitched, this design uses shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown and white. PATTERN DETAILS: This design suggests threads from DMC and Weeks Dye Works. DMC alternative suggestions are given for the Weeks Dye Works threads. It uses whole stitches only. The model was stitched on 28 ct. Winter Brew Linen from R&R Reproductions using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 64w x 42h and measures approximately 4 3/8"w x 2 7/8"h when stitched on 28 count/equivalent. FABRIC TIP: When choosing fabric, make sure you choose one that is dark enough to make the white threads stand out. I suggest mid tones. FLOSS TIP: If you choose to stitch using overdyed floss and want to let the variegation shine, make sure you complete each X before moving on to the next one. I also suggest you stitch everything in the same direction (either stitch your rows side to side OR up and down--but not both!) That way, the variegated lines are cohesive. One more time, here it is! Thanks for stopping by!

  • PURE HONEY AND CREAMERY - .PDF

Thank you so much for all the sweet feedback and fun requests over the last several weeks! You sure know how to make a girl feel appreciated! I am so grateful to be a part of the stitching community. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have had more requests for additional farmhouse signs (in the same vein as my Fresh Eggs pattern) than I have for anything else, so... these two patterns are for those of you who have been patiently waiting! I'd love to do a few more farm animals down the road, but for now, we will call these a start! First up is Pure Honey. As you can see, I had fun with the Fabric Flair Whitewashed Board fabric and tried stitching with the grain going sideways for this piece. I loved it! I am a side-to-side stitcher and noticed how the variegated Weeks Dye Works floss suddenly made the piece look like an old weathered sign when I was stitching the same direction as the faux grain. Love, love, love. I did the same thing with Creamery and really feel like the larger stitching field made the effect super pronounced. Of course, you don't need to use my floss suggestions or stitch side to side! Feel free to stitch them any way you want---I've seen a lot of people add a red line between the rows of text on "Fresh Eggs", and I think stitching them with an overdyed dirty gray floss for an extra-weathered look would look amazing, too! Regardless--if you stitch it with my suggestions or do it your way, I'd love to see your projects. Use hashtag #cherryhillstitchery on social media so I can find your pretties ;). WHERE TO BUY

  • STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER - .PDF

This pattern takes me back to parades, marching bands, and the old-fashioned patriotic celebrations of yesteryear. It is just right for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Flag Day, the 4th of July, or as part of a year-round Americana display. The full text of the design reads "Stars and Stripes Forever." As stitched, this design uses shades of red, white, blue, yellow, green, white and pink. PATTERN DETAILS: This design suggests threads from DMC and uses whole stitches only. The model was stitched on 32 ct. Platinum Belfast Linen using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 107w x 83h and measures approximately 6 3/4"w x 5"h when stitched on 32 count/equivalent. RECREATE THE LOOK: I used Edie Jane Navy Dot by Deena Rutter for Riley Blake (SKU C8185-Navy) as the navy fabric for my mounted flat. (Pictured on model.) For the cording, I used 6 strands of DMC B5200 thread to get the desired thickness. I cut it 3x the perimeter of the mounted cross stitch piece before spinning with a Kreinik Corder. The covered button is a size 36 (7/8") from Dritz. I used Cherry Lemonade Blue Gingham Fabric from In the Beginning Studio (SKU 8CL-1) as the fabric to cover it. All ribbons used in the bow on the model are from Offray and were found with seasonal selections in the craft section at Walmart. The blue gingham ribbon is a 1.5" wire-edge, the red/white stripe ribbon is a 1.5" grosgrain, and the blue ribbon with silver stars is a 7/8" satin ribbon. They are pictured below with the covered button and the Cherry Lemonade Blue Gingham fabric used in the model on that button. • FREE PATTERN - HAPPY EASTER

Oh, 2020! What a year this week has been! Right?! My family had planned to be at Disneyland right now for spring break, which obviously is not happening. YouTube to the rescue! Did y'all know you can watch ride through videos of every.single.kiddie.Disneyland ride? True story. We're totally doing the virtual vacay thing with our Disney tees and Mickey ears while we keep ourselves in a Lysol bubble at home. Also, Josh Gad is reading us bedtime stories on Twitter (#GadBookClub). Audible is offering free stories (https://stories.audible.com/start-listen), and zoos around the country have been streaming fun little animal shows (#animalsathome). There are silver linings to be found somewhere in here! Anyway, in light of the crazytown that the world has suddenly become, I wanted to release my next design as a freebie. I hope that you can add this to your personal list of silver linings. My heart is with those of you who are finding yourselves sick or worried about your loved ones and your jobs. I'm worried too <3. Truly, we are all in this together. I'd say it was time for a group hug, but... germs. A free pattern will have to do! A couple of things first. 1.) The pattern is a .pdf file, so you'll need to have a .pdf reader like Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view it. (Adobe Acrobat Reader is free and can be downloaded by clicking HERE.) 2.) Reach out to your favorite needlework shop for supplies. I listed finishing options on the pattern, including SKU's wherever possible, for the things they don't usually carry. Thanks, and take care of yourselves out there! CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD "HAPPY EASTER"

  • BLOOM - .PDF

In this cross-stitch pattern, a white sheep is enjoying pink spring flowers while a bee buzzes past and birds flock nearby. As stitched, the pattern uses shades of white, brown, pink, yellow and green. It features a sheep with a heart who is standing on a hill along with some flowers, birds, and even a few teeny toadstools. PATTERN DETAILS: This design suggests threads from Classic Colorworks and DMC. DMC alternatives are given for the Classic Colorworks threads. The pattern uses whole stitches only. The model is stitched over 2 on 32 Count Pearl Gray Belfast Linen using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 72w x 87h and measures approximately 4 1/2"w x 5 1/2"h when stitched on 32 count/equivalent. A LITTLE FABRIC ADVICE: There is a lot of white in this pattern that will not show well if you stitch on a white or very light colored fabric. I strongly recommend you use fabric that is dark enough to make the white stand out. I recommend at least mid-tones, but black or charcoal gray would be adorable too! Happy Stitching!

  • SUMMER BARNYARD STACK - .PDF

These little barnyard friends are enjoying summer's arrival! As stitched, this pattern uses shades of red, green, brown, yellow, black and white. It is embellished with a sheep holding a small banner, a cow, and a chicken standing on a grassy hill. A bee is also buzzing past on its way to a berry vine. PATTERN DETAILS: This design suggests threads from Weeks Dye Works and DMC. It is stitched entirely with whole stitches. The model is stitched over 2 on 30ct. Portobello linen using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 72w x 110h and measures approximately 4 1/2"w x 6 1/4"h when stitched on that fabric. A FEW DESIGN TIPS: This design is stitched with a lot of white. If you are also going to use the suggested floss colors, be sure to choose fabric that is dark enough to make the white stand out. It also has some larger areas of solid color. Those are *PERFECT* places to let your over-dyed flosses really shine! Always feel free to substitute whatever threads you want, but be aware that your results may look different if you opt to use thread with no variegation in those larger fields. Also, if you choose to use over-dyed threads, completing one stitch at a time will give you the most variegation, and stitching in the same direction (side to side or up and down) will give you the best results. The model was stitched side to side. WHERE TO BUY

  • LUCKY - .PDF

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with this "Lucky" cross stitch small! This pattern features the word "Lucky" and includes a rainbow leading to a pot of gold on a hill. The pattern also includes a shamrock, a heart, and a row of alternating greens embellished with gold to help lure in those leprechauns! As stitched, the pattern uses red, orange, yellow, greens, blue, purple, gray, black and gold. PATTERN DETAILS: Although this pattern suggests regular DMC threads, DMC Light Effects Gold, and Weeks Dye Works threads, it includes DMC-only alternatives as well. It is stitched entirely with whole stitches. The model is stitched over 2 on 28ct. Antique White Jobelan using 2 ply thread. The stitch count is 52w x 35h and measures approximately 3.5"w x 2.5"h when stitched on 28 count/equivalent. A WORD ON STITCHING WITH DMC LIGHT EFFECTS: DMC Light Effects thread is a metallic and can be pretty tricky to work with. If you don't want to mess with it, just substitute the yellow from the rainbow. If you would like to give it a go, make sure you work with small segments; 12 inches or so at a time is a good starting place. Thread conditioner helps. Expect to have waste. It will fray! One more time, here it is--Happy Stitching!
